101 The Lesson of the Moth

In this poem, the moth teaches us that it is more important to live life fully and to be happy. At first the narrator does not understand the moth's ways, but we learn at the end that he is beginning to get what the moth is talking about. Even though the moth burns himself, he is happy and beautiful, and the author is jealous that he is not also happy. Life is not merely about surviving, but living.
